Frequently Asked Questions

Thaathas Clothing is an Indian ethnic wear brand rooted in traditional handloom craftsmanship. We bring authentic sarees, silk pattu, cotton weaves, and men's traditional wear directly to customers across India — celebrating the artisans who keep these textile traditions alive.

At the heart of our brand is Chinnusami, our beloved master artisan. He began his journey as a daily wage labourer, operating weaving machines in other people's homes. 25 years ago, his family pooled together and gifted him two weaving machines — a moment of dignity and freedom. Today, at 84 years old, he still weaves on his single remaining loom every single day. His hands carry over five decades of skill, rhythm, and love for the craft.

Thaathas is the Tamil word for grandfather. The name is a heartfelt tribute to our master weaver Chinnusami — honouring the elder, the artisan, and the living legacy behind every product we sell.

We are rooted in Tamil Nadu, India — a state with one of the richest handloom traditions in the country. Our products reflect the weaving heritage of South India, from Kanchipuram silk to Chettinad cotton.
