A Legacy Woven by Hand

The Story of Weaving Master Chinnusami

At the heart of Thaatha’s Clothing is a man whose hands have been weaving dreams for more than five decades our beloved master artisan, Chinnusami.

Born into humble beginnings, he started his journey as a daily wage laborer, operating weaving machines in other people’s homes. Life was tough, but his dedication to the craft was unshakable. He believed in the power of handloom in the beauty of fabric made slowly, patiently, and with love.

Seeing his passion, his family came together 25 years ago and bought him two weaving machines. For him, it wasn’t just a gift  it was freedom. A chance to create his own work, in his own space, with dignity.

Over time, one of the machines broke down and could not be repaired. Today, at 84 years old, he still works every day on his single remaining loom. His hands may have aged, but his skill, rhythm, and pride remain stronger than ever.

Every product he weaves carries:

  • the weight of his experience

  • the warmth of his devotion

  • the soul of traditional craftsmanship

In a world filled with mass-produced fashion, we exist to protect and celebrate artisans like him people who spend a lifetime mastering an art form that deserves to be preserved.
